As reported by MMO Culture, Nexon MMORPG Spiritwish will close its South Korean server on April 1st. There is no news about whether the global servers also receive the same treatment or not, but for SpiritWish it certainly does not look good.
It is a little surprising as it is a pretty new MMO, which was launched in January last year in South Korea and in October 2019 worldwide. Given the sheer number of MMOs from which on mobile devices can be selected, the market is very crowded and therefore difficult to make great progress.
Of course this will be tightened even further when the game itself is not very well received and the reaction to Spiritish was not encouraging. The game is currently in both the App Store and Google Play with 3 or 3.5 out of 5 stars, which is not just suggested that the game is mediocre, but also potential players can prevent it to try it at all.
Currently there are over 100,000 downloads on Google Play, which is not insignificant number. But of course it depends entirely on how many of these people still play regularly and spend money for the game.
The global version of the game has been updated regularly since the start. Under a week ago, a pretty extensive patch was released. The developers have clearly tried to improve spiritish to make it more pleasant, but it seems too late.
If you are unfamiliar with the game itself, SpiritWish is an MMORPG in which player can use three different characters at the same time. The idea is that you try a variety of hero combinations to discover synergies that work well.
SpiritWish is currently available on the website Appstore and Google Play. It is a free game with in-app purchases.
