In the latest patch, the air skill is in Minecraft to the collar, because the Elytren (English: Elytra ) is generated. To compensate, the flight slope also gets a small improvement elsewhere.
What are Elytren? The Elytren are an endgame item in Minecraft, the player can find in the end. However, Elytren's true use will turn Elytren in the normal world, because there you can overthrow themselves with the cliff of cliffs, gliding through the environment or giving themselves a turbo boost using missiles to gain in height - at least so far.
What is changed now? If players want to use Elytren and accelerate with missiles, that will be significantly slower than before. It is then no longer possible to achieve extremely high speed through the series of several missiles. The maximum speed is throttled and flying with Elytren thus made less worthwhile.
At the same time, there is also a clear improvement in Elytren. Because the flight slope consumes no durability in the future if you only use it for sliding - just the reinforcing with missiles needs durability. This means that you can overthrow yourself from the new, high cliffs, even without Mending on the Elytren. So if you want to explore gorges and like to rush from the highest mountains, in the future, has much longer from the Elytren.
Why is that done? There are several reasons mentioned by the developers:
Traveling with Elytren are too fast compared to all other possibilities of transport. As a result, alternatives are not worthwhile. You want to create a little more balance here. On many servers, there are lags when the players start to get around with the Elytren. They often fly faster than the chunks (sections of the game world) can load at all, which is strongly suffering from performance. With the even larger world in the new patch, the problem becomes rather stronger.
